Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce
Bryan came to Charleston six years ago to accept the position of President and CEO at the Chamber, after serving in chambers of commerce in Ohio, North Carolina and Kansas. Every day, Bryan is inspired by the incredible members and volunteers who are passionate about their businesses and ensuring that our region excels. He currently lives in Mount Pleasant with his lovely wife, Gail.
President and CEO
Candy will be playing a major role in identifying, tracking progress and monitoring timelines for what the Executive and Senior Team priorities. Candy is a Charleston local, born and raised in West Ashley and is an enthusiastic volunteer, participating in community activities with many area organizations. Candy enjoys all that Charleston has to offer including the beaches, outdoors and spending time with her husband, Jon, son, Cohen, and her large extended family.
Executive Assistant and Project Coordinator
Jacki hails from North Carolina and came to the Charleston area because she “had never been here before.” She obviously found something she liked as she has been running the Center for Business Research for the Chamber for 25 years. Her favorite thing about her job is that she learns something new everyday. She currently resides in Berkeley County.

Ian was born and raised in western North Carolina and has just returned to the South after a decade in Greater Washington D.C. What lured him to the Charleston Region? Ian says that the opportunity to live in one of the nation’s most vibrant economic regions and work for one of the nation’s most dynamic chambers of commerce is what did it. (We’re blushing.) Senior Vice President of Advocacy
Scott spent 35+ years as partner with a Baltimore, Maryland based law firm where he represented clients on land use issues. The work gave him lots of exposure to local government issues. During his tenure he also led the firm’s business development efforts.
He and his wife have vacationed in the low country for years and made the decision last fall to relocate full time to Daniel Island
Associate Director of Advocacy
George is from York, South Carolina. When asked what brought him to Charleston, he replied simply, “It’s Charleston.” That’s good enough for us. George has been with the Chamber for five years and he enjoys working with our legislative delegation to support the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda. During the legislative session, you can follow George on twitter at @Chaslobbyist. He lives with his wife and son in James Island.
Erica grew up in North Charleston and has chosen to live in her hometown as an adult. She has been a part of the Chamber team since August 2011. After spending five years leading Charleston Young Professionals, Erica is now using her skills to expand the Advocacy team’s capacity by using her considerable skill set to build relationships with local elected officials, work to advance the Chamber’s public policy priorities and carry a smart growth message throughout our region.

Tina has been working in youth and workforce programs for 20 years. She is a first cohort ACCE EAD Education Attainment Fellow, graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and has served in volunteer leadership positions with the local United Way, City Year, Mayor’s Office MLK Committee and Girl Scouts. Tina holds her bachelors in Communications from University of North Florida.

Robin is from Rome…not that one…the one in Georgia. She has been working for the Chamber for four years and in that time has helped develop a Career Academy program that is held as a national model. Robin says her favorite thing about working at the Chamber is the challenging projects she gets to work on. She currently lives in Mount Pleasant.

Suzi is a Charleston native. She loves that working at the Chamber allows her to connect people and build relationships to achieve results. Suzi has worked at the Chamber for a cumulative total of about 15 years. She is proud to work with educators to help them prepare students for the real world. She lives in West Ashley.
Associate Vice President of Career Preparedness Programs
Adrian is originally from Parkersburg, WV and came to Charleston in 2011 when his “much better half” Nicole accepted a position as a faculty member and physician at the Medical University of South Carolina. Adrian loves working at the Chamber because, as he puts it, he has “the opportunity to work with an amazing group of professionals with a deep commitment to advancing our region.” Adrian currently lives in the Mount Pleasant area.
Chief Development Officer
Shea is from Kansas, but luckily for us, she is not in Kansas anymore. Shea came to Charleston for a change of pace, lifestyle and viewpoint. Now she helps the Chamber tackle big, community-refining initiatives that ultimately make Charleston a better place to live. She really enjoys working to support the talent development initiatives that empower young people. Shea has worked for the Chamber for a year and a half and currently resides in Mount Pleasant.

The aviation industry brought Sean to the Charleston region. He hails from Massachusetts, but now calls North Charleston home. As Sean leads the charge for the Chamber’s Local Area Programming, he loves to meet and work with fantastic people from all of our great communities.

Therese was born and raised in Sweden. She has been in the United States for many years, and came to the Charleston region for a fresh start, beautiful views, friendly people and nice weather. For almost four years, Therese has been engaging with our membership and strengthening relationships with the community through her work at the Chamber. She says that she loves being part of a great team. We love that she taught us about the glory of fika. Therese currently lives in James Island.
Assistant Director of Local Area Programs
Katie is from Cincinnati, Ohio and when asked what brought her to Charleston, she replies “Charleston.” Katie has worked at the Chamber for more than four years and loves that her work allows her to meet and learn from so many of our members. She also loves her “amazing and uplifting team.”
Leadership Programs Director
Tim came to Charleston for the beaches and the warmer climate. He has been with the Chamber for just less than a year, and says that the most rewarding aspect of his job is being able to “connect with, and learn about, the greater Charleston business community on a daily basis.” He currently resides in West Ashley.
Vice President of Membership
Cassie comes to us from sunny Florida. She moved to Charleston because it’s a “beautiful area with many opportunities.” Cassie has been with the Chamber for over two years. She says her favorite thing about working at the Chamber is working with such a talented team. She currently lives in Summerville with her husband.
Member Relations Associate Director
Grace is originally from Los Angeles, California and she came to Charleston when her husband was stationed here with the United States Air Force. For Grace, the best part of working at the Chamber is getting to meet so many people and having the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with our members–and she has the best co-workers. Grace and her husband currently live in West Ashley.
Member Relations Manager
Kelly is originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania and studied communications throughout her college education. Upon moving to Charleston in 2003, she had the opportunity to work at 82 Queen, Tides Folly Beach and at the Harbour Club.
Kelly and her husband Al reside on James Island with their daughter. Outside of the Chamber, Kelly enjoys being a new mom and spending time with her family. They love to boat, fish, cook and be outdoors. As she puts it, “We’re living the Charleston dream.”
Membership Engagement Director
Digit came to Charleston from Lake Norman, NC in April 2006. Before starting at the Chamber, Digit worked with Morris Financial Concepts, Inc. for more than four years and prior to that, spent 20 years in the shipping industry and in printing and marketing. He is very active in the Charleston community and served as President for the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston (2014-2015). He enjoys Charleston and all it has to offer with his wife, Danielle and their dog Vito. In his spare time, he is a bow hunter and likes to be in the great outdoors experiencing everything God has created as often as possible.

Zach grew up in Florence, SC and recently graduated from the Citadel with a political science degree. What started out as a three-month internship has turned into a full-time job. While he hasn’t been at the Chamber very long, he says that his favorite thing is how well everyone works together as a team. Welcome to the team Zach! He currently resides in James Island.
Ashley came to Charleston from Atlanta, Georgia. She is closing in on a year as a Chamber team member. Her favorite thing about her work as a Membership Engagement Director is that she gets to build relationships with our members. Ashley currently lives in West Ashley.

Jenna is from Dallas, Texas and recently came to Charleston via New Orleans. She joined the Chamber team in June, but when asked her favorite part of her job, she says, “I enjoy the opportunity to meet and build relationships with a variety of business leaders and utilize our resources to understand and maximize the needs and goals of their companies. My favorite part of my job is connecting the values and intention of these individuals to the community and watching them flourish over time. I also make lots of great friends along the way!” Jenna currently lives in North Charleston.

Janie regularly produces stellar events for the Chamber membership. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Janie came to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston. Janie loves creatively brainstorming with the Chamber team and members to produce high quality programs. She currently lives in Mount Pleasant.

Kaye, who grew up in an Air Force family, has lived in a lot of places, but she has called the Charleston region her home for over 30 years. For the last few years, she has been keeping Bryan Derreberry on schedule and running board meetings. Now she will be keeping the whole Chamber on track. She says that one of her favorite things about working at the Chamber is being able to make a difference in the community. She currently lives in the West Ashley area.
Director of Operations
Jemella is from Ridgeville, South Carolina. She has been a part of the Chamber team for over 10 years and says that she likes working for an organization that allows her to be part of something bigger than herself. Jemella places a lot of importance on helping to make a better community for her eight-year old son, so being able to support work on issues like education, career-readiness and infrastructure are a great way to make sure the future is brighter. Jemella lives in the Summerville area.
Lena is originally from New York. She came to Charleston to be with family and currently lives in Green Pond, SC. Now, if you don’t know where that is, let’s just say that its a bit of a drive. She says her favorite thing about working at the Chamber is the great Chamber team. She has been an official part of the team since January 2016.
Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
Ken came to the Chamber from Arlington, VA to take the position of CMO at the Chamber and has a deep expertise in marketing, branding, communications, business development and membership in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. In his free time, Ken works out at the gym frequently, likes outdoor adventures, meditates and enjoys travel and scuba diving. Although he’s only been in the area for a short time, Ken has chosen the Mount Pleasant area to call home.

Erin grew up just outside of Charlotte, NC and came here for job opportunities. She spent six years with Palmetto Goodwill before joining the Chamber team nearly four years ago. What drives Erin’s work at the Chamber? She says that the Chamber “has an undeniable impact on our metro, we are advancing our region, the place I call home, not just for today, but for year’s to come. I enjoy working alongside each of our talented team members and connecting with all our members – each day is different, exciting and inspiring.” Erin lives in Mount Pleasant.
Vice President of Marketing
Liz comes from a long line of Charleston natives. She loves working with the crazy-amazing team at the Chamber and also the opportunity to connect with all manners of people both face-to-face and digitally. Liz has worked at the Chamber for about four years. She currently lives in Goose Creek and apologizes in advance if she gets distracted by a dog while talking to you.
Digital Communications Coordinator
Dustin is originally from Ohio and when we asked what brought him to Charleston…he said it was a “2004 Toyota Rav4.” He has worked at the Chamber for nine years and, in that time, has created an incredible body of work. Dustin says he enjoys the staff camaraderie of the Chamber team the most. Hmm..we always thought it was the free snacks. He currently lives in North Charleston.
Madison is another native Charlestonian. She joined the Chamber team two years ago and has proven herself to be an invaluable member of staff. She says her favorite thing about working at the Chamber is that she feels like she is helping to make a difference in the business community and in our region. She currently lives in James Island.
