Dominion Energy Donates 3,000 Cases of Water to Harvest Hope Food Bank

To further assist in the Hurricane Florence disaster response efforts, Dominion Energy delivered 3,000 CASES of donated water to Harvest Hope Food Bank’s Columbia, SC location this morning. Harvest Hope serves as the lead food bank agency in South Carolina during times of disaster and supports additional agencies such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.

“Water is one of the vital needs for both our first responders and victims of Hurricane Florence, ” said Keith Ferrell, Interim CEO for Harvest Hope Food Bank. “We are extremely grateful to the members of our community, like Dominion Energy, for supporting Harvest Hope and South Carolina. We are working hard to serve people impacted by the storm and continue to look for more resources to help the most needed communities.”

Harvest Hope Food Bank has staffed locations in Greenville, Florence and Columbia. Team members and volunteers have been working around the clock to provide a rapid response to this storm. Bottled water and one-day disaster food bags were staged around the state and are continuing to be used.

Since preparations began for Hurricane Florence, Feeding the Carolinas food banks in SC, including Harvest Hope, have served more than 100,000 meals worth $204,224 to those in need.
