Export training has begun for MCEP Cohort 2

Six companies began their export training as part of the Metro Charleston Export Plan, which runs from August through October, 2014. This is the second group of companies to participate in the training program, the first group completed their training in June 2014.  The training, provided by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Center Charleston(WTCC), includes a variety of experts from around the state and will prepare participating companies to enter the international market or to expand current exports.

Fog Free Technologies
Manufacturing
FFT was founded in 1991 with an aim to become an environmentally friendly products industry leader that would offer a solution to problems that had significant negative environmental impacts.  Their first product line tackled finding an environmentally friendly solution for the Fats, Oils, and Grease in Municipal Waste Water facilities.  After the Deepwater Horizon accident and oil spill in 2010, Fog Free formed an Oil Remediation Division and developed a patented nontoxic dispersant,, FFT-Solution, made of natural, organic substances, and 100% toxin-free and bio-degradable safe ingredients.   FFT-Solution changes the dispersed crude oil particles into smaller hydrocarbons that are 100% digestible by the existing bacteria in the ocean and on land.

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co.

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. is a family run company based in Charleston, SC and Lexington, KY. Their goal is to take long forgotten staples of the American bar and reinvent them, in an effort to drink like our great-grandparents might once have.  Their tonics and mixers are crafted in the United States in small batches and distributed carefully across the world to finer bottle shops, bars, restaurants and general fans of a delicious drink.

Multiplastics is a trademark of Curd Enterprises Inc. (1952) for the manufacture of fabricated plastic displays and plastic products for the Automotive, Aerospace, Communication, Defense, Healthcare, Food, Marine, Mechanical and Transportation industries.  It was through this name that the company became known for innovative and creative manufacturing of thermoformed plastic products.  In 1986 they designed and built the first water runoff containment system for bridges in the United States.  The system was designed to protect fragile marshlands from the effects of gasoline and oil residue running off the bridge deck.  Multiplastics achieved ISO 9001 Quality Certification in 1997, and continues to be an innovator in thermoforming, and has added injection-molding capability for more versatility in meeting customer needs.

One of the top buoy and marine product manufacturers in the country, Curd Buoys continues to develop better aids to navigation and coastal research buoys in partnership with the SC Department of Natural Resources and equivalent organizations in surrounding states.

The New Primal

The New Primal is a Charleston based snack food company specialized in making and selling high-quality artisanal beef jerky:  all-natural, grass-fed beef, gluten-free, naturally sweetened and infused with spices, with no nitrates, preservatives, or MSG.  They have been in business for 4 years and in retail locations for almost 2 years – in 40 states with over 800 retail locations.  Requests have been made to offer their products in Canada and parts of Europe.  They are continuing to expand their product offering with new food creations as they grow their business.

USCOA, LLC

USCOA has been producing entrance mats since 1889.  With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in St. George, DeCoir mats are manufactured from natural coir (coconut) fiber bristles, which are far superior to that of imitation cocoa mats and other synthetic mats; and their elegant designs are applied through an electrostatic flocking process that permanently bonds the colored fibers to the coir fibers.  DeCoir Mats are made to retain their original quality and appearance.
