College of Charleston School of Business Seeking Input for Business Analytics Graduate Program

The School of Business at the College of Charleston is planning a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics and wants your input. The Certificate provides post-baccalaureate students with the foundation needed to apply data analytics to real-world challenges.

Here are a few skills the program will help its students develop:

  • To analyze data and information to describe and understand the performance of a business; 
  • To evaluate different courses of action based on structured and unstructured data sources; and,
  • To strategically approach business problem-solving for sustained competitive advantage.

As part of the Certificate program, participants will learn:

  • To frame business challenges as data questions; 
  • To use powerful analytical tools and methods to analyze data; 
  • To create forecasts and statistical models;
  • To design visualizations for business purposes; and,
  • To communicate complex data analyses and models to a lay audience.

The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics will consist of four graduate courses offered in the evenings across two semesters. Prerequisites: An approved undergraduate statistics course (or, by permission of the Director) AND an approved undergraduate calculus or a business calculus course (or, by permission of the Director).
