Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd Elects Three New Shareholders

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to announce that Jane Bouch Stoney, Charles E. “Charlie” Ipock and J. Philip Land have been elected Shareholders in the firm.

Charleston

Jane Stoney focuses her practice on all aspects of commercial and institutional real estate, including sales, acquisitions, financing, leasing and zoning and land use regulation. Additionally, she advises clients with respect to entity formation, the formation of 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations, trademark and business start-up matters and business litigation disputes.

Jane received her J.D. from Emory University and B.A. from Washington and Lee University. She is recognized as a 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Corporate Law and Real Estate Law.

Florence

Charlie Ipock is an experienced litigator and negotiator who advises his clients on strategic approaches to help them achieve their goals. He serves as outside counsel for multiple local governments in South Carolina and advises on annexations, condemnations, election law issues, FOIA responses and bond issuances. Charlie also represents trustees, beneficiaries, personal representatives and other fiduciaries and interested persons in trust, estate and probate litigation. In addition, he represents accountants and small business owners in securities litigation and commercial business and insurance disputes.

Charlie received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University and his B.S., magna cum laude, from N.C. State University. He is recognized as a 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Litigation – Trusts and Estates. Charlie is a member of the House of Delegates and the CLE Committee Chair for the South Carolina Bar, volunteer Chaplain at McLeod Health and committee member of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association.

Greenville

Philip Land is a business lawyer whose clients include company owners, real estate developers, investment funds and international businesses. He represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters and economic development transactions involving public-private partnerships.

Philip earned his Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College. He is recognized as a 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. Philip is also named as one of Greenville Business Magazine’s “Legal Elite of the Upstate” for Business Litigation, International Law, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Government Law.
