10-year-old Kalaila from Mount Pleasant, SC has courageously battled leukemia for several years. Now, donors and volunteers are making it possible for Kalaila to receive her one true wish – to go to Hawaii.
The promise of Kalaila’s wish coming true has provided an opportunity to look ahead with hope and excitement. The anticipation of a wish helps kids like Kalaila stay strong and positive no matter what health obstacles they face.
Family and friends will gather with Kalaila on Thursday, July 11 at Panera Bread Café 2000 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29407 at 5 pm to celebrate her wish coming true. Wishes bring families closer together and bond communities. It is sure to be a day that will touch many hearts and impact many lives beyond Kalaila’s.
“What better way is there to show our commitment to the future of our communities than to provide wishes and hope to local children with serious illnesses,” said Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread. “We care about the kids and families in the areas we serve and being able to support Make-A-Wish’s incredible mission means the world to us and our South Carolina employees.”
Covelli Enterprises and Panera Bread are currently hosting their “Summer of Wishes” round up campaign for Make-A-Wish. Stop by a participating Panera Bread Café during the months of July, August and September and round up your purchase and help make a difference. For more information about Make-A-Wish, visit wish.org.
