READING EMPOWERS: A Conversation About Race & Educational Equity With Jeffrey Blount

Join Reading Partners’ CEO, Ola Whitney, in an open conversation and Q&A with Jeffrey Blount on November 18 at 7 pm!

Jeffrey will share brief remarks exploring the history of racial justice and educational equity in America, then take questions from our community. The online event will take place on November 18 from 7-8 pm EST. We welcome you to tune in and participate in the Q&A.

Jeffrey Blount is an accomplished author, Emmy award-winning director, and inspiring speaker. His latest novel, The Emancipation of Evan Walls, explores the complexities of being “young, gifted, and Black” in America. The book mirrors elements of Jeffrey’s own lived experience and inspired pieces of Evan Walls’ fictional story.

Thanks to our local booksellers, you can purchase a copy of The Emancipation of Evan Walls from Blue Bicycle Books and Buxton Books. This is a public event, so feel free to share with others who you think would be interested.
