The St. Johns Fire District provides fire, emergency medical service, and rescue services to the Johns, Wadmalaw, Kiawah, and Seabrook Islands. A community focused organization, the STJFD strives to be leaders in our community through proactive community risk reduction and robust emergency services. Created in 1959, the STJFD is governed by a board of nine fire commissioners representing each island. The STJFD staffs seven fire stations with over 140 personnel. This dedicated group of men and women work a 24 hours on and 48 hours off schedule and provide service 365 days a year
