Tianna Genovese, Director of Sales at The Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview of Charleston, SC was recognized this month with the prestigious “2020 Director of Sales” award from Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH). The announcement was made on a company-wide Zoom call, which took place in lieu of the Choice Hotels Annual Convention, originally planned to take place in New Orleans.

This distinction goes to the top director of sales within each brand, representing a tremendous accomplishment. Tianna joined the Cambria’s pre-opening team in 2018 as the Charleston Riverview property was under construction. Thanks to her hard work and dedication to both the brand and the hotel, their opening month was one of the strongest in the brand’s history with the highest group revenues on the books and consecutive sold out nights in the first week of operations.

Tianna’s focus on the brand’s growth also placed her as one of only two ‘Keep It Cambria’ winners this year, which she earned by sending 18 leads to other Cambria hotels. Additionally, through a tremendous sales effort led by Tianna, sales revenue reached 195% of goal for the 2019 year. When speaking about Tianna’s accomplishments at the hotel, Don Urbahn, the VP of Revenue Management said, “This DOS has exceeded our management companies’ expectations the first year in both group and business travel.”

After Tianna moved to the Lowcountry in 2018, she easily integrated into the Charleston community with active participation in Travel Council, Charleston Hoteliers Network, the Lowcountry Hospitality Association, and Charleston Chamber of Commerce, building lasting relationships with local businesses, vendors, and hospitality partners alike. Her constant awareness of the goings on in Charleston allows her to connect with community members and effectively sell the city to the hotel’s guests.
