Today Governor McMaster will extend the current stay at home or work order for another 15 days. The order will be in place until May 12, 2020. The executive order is not expected to change the current businesses, public beaches and state waterways that were allowed to be reopened last week.
To recap, the Governor’s extended executive order requires that all residents in South Carolina limit their movements from home unless deemed an essential business, or essential needs. Retail businesses are limited to no more than five customers per 1000 square feet or 20% of occupancy, whichever is less.
Violations of the Governor’s executive order will be a misdemeanor that comes with a fine up to $100 per offense or 30 days in jail.
