Chamber Announces 2019 Honors Winners

The Charleston Metro Chamber announces the honorees for the 2019 Honors Awards.

The Honors awards celebrate the achievements of local organizations and leaders with an exemplary commitment to the region’s economic development and quality of life. Sponsored by Charleston Southern University, the second annual Honors Ceremony on November 14 at Riverfront Park will celebrate the winners in seven award categories.

THE TRAILBLAZER

The Trailblazer Award recognizes an organization that has created a cutting edge product or service. The Trailblazer is presented this year to DocuSystems, a nationally recognized leader in providing the technology and service required to remain competitive in even the toughest economic environment.

THE BEACON

The Beacon award is given to a project or structure that elevates aesthetics and improves quality of life for the region. Congratulations to The Gibbes Museum of Art, home to the foremost collection of American art that incorporates the story of Charleston. The Museum connects the city and region’s artistic past to a vibrant contemporary art scene.

THE PILLAR

The Pillar Award recognizes an organization known for long-standing excellence. Ingevity‘s commitment to purify, protect, and enhance the world around us set them apart as a pillar of our community.

THE MILESTONE

Stasmayer, Inc. is being recognized as our 2019 Milestone recipient, an award given to a small business that illustrates excellence in entrepreneurship, employee relations, diversity and community contribution. Stasmayer, Inc. embraces a creative and stylish approach to IT, while providing the best possible service to professional organizations. 

THE ROCKSTAR

The Rockstar Award recognizes an organization that has experienced a significant achievement resulting in a positive impact on the region. The 2019 honoree is Volvo Cars USA, who put people first by focusing on three key innovation areas: technology, performance and safety.

THE ONE TO WATCH

The One to Watch is presented to an individual with outstanding professional success who is rising through the ranks in the Charleston business arena and demonstrates impeccable leadership qualities. Our 2019 honoree, Michael Samuel, is a Commercial Portfolio Manager for BB&T. He also serves on the Charleston Young Professionals Steering Committee.


Each of these winners will be celebrated at The Honors portion of Member-Bration on November 14, at Riverfront Park.

We will also be awarding the prestigious Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award recipient, celebrating a visionary leader doing extraordinary work to strengthen the community and who is an outstanding community volunteer that has demonstrated a lifetime of leadership.
