Charleston Metro Chamber to Host Virtual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference

The Charleston Metro Chamber has announced its inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference, a three-day, fully virtual conference that will create space for participants to listen, learn and take action.

“Right now, it is vital for every business in our community to have crucial conversations on how to ensure we are creating equitable opportunities for all,” said Kenya Dunn, Chamber Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Executive Fellow.

Throughout the three-day conference, participants will journey together with the goal of leading the region’s business community in creating a diverse and inclusive workforce where opportunities and resources are equitable for all.

Each day will feature a thought-provoking keynote speaker along with breakout sessions and work groups. The conference will be structured around how Diversity, Equity and Inclusion relates to how the region collectively learns, lives and earns.

Participants will take a deep dive into who the Charleston region is today and seek to better understand some of the historic and systemic challenges that lead to inequity in the Lowcountry. Attendees will learn specific steps to take personally and through their businesses to create meaningful enhancements to the future of the region.

At the end of the conference, attendees will be equipped with the resources needed to undertake the DE&I journey within their own organizations.
