We were thrilled to sit down with Marc Marchant to learn about his 2021 goals for our Chamber, the biggest opportunities and challenges we are hearing from members and a look into our Chamber’s future.
“We’re fortunate to be in an area that survives on the tourism dollar, but we also have members that are involved in other industries and sectors. Our complex economy requires us to think a little bit differently about what resiliency looks like. I know that the Chamber is already looking at some really interesting ways to do that and work with our members to find solutions.”
“We’ve been talking about this for years at the Chamber and in our community. It’s time for action. I’m pleased to try to lead that, not because I’m an expert, but because with my role at the Chamber and with the Chamber’s Government Relations team, we can work together with municipalities, development teams, the developers council and with smart business people to figure out some real solutions to attainable housing.”
“We have a wonderful opportunity to not only give members the tools to be better at DE&I in their own workplace, but also to collectively raise the bar for a more diverse community. One of the biggest challenges we have is attracting great talent, and out ability to be more diverse allows us to attract and retain great talent
“We have small business, women- or minority-owned businesses that are just beginning to understand how to become significant players in their industry. We also have very large companies here. Being able to partner a small firm with a large one to help mentor and train each other in best practices for building a good business is something I think the Chamber could do in a very unique way.”
