Second Annual Member-Bration Honors and Celebrates Diverse Membership

Wow. We did it…again.

These were the first words I thought of after our second annual Member-Bration presented by BlueCross Blue Shield of South Carolina on November 14.

When I say “We did it,” I mean:

We created an event for our dedicated members to be honored and celebrated.

Our members are rock stars and deserve to be treated that way. Why not create an event that is all about them? Member-Bration is the perfect way for us to close out the year and give them a celebration to be proud of and a night to remember. Members are a large part of why we do what we do, and we enjoyed recognizing a few of these standouts at The Honors, sponsored by Charleston Southern University.

Congratulations to the 2019 Honors winners:

At The Celebration, sponsored by First National Bank of PA, we also celebrated some of what makes Charleston so special – our southern food and drinks of course! Many of our member companies served their specialty dishes and cocktails and had attendees going back for seconds and thirds. Member-Bration celebrated all our small and large business members, both critical to the work we do throughout the year.

We, the Chamber staff, banded together for a 15-hour day to create an event that we were determined to make a success – despite the weather.

I am proud to be part of a team that gives 100% to their job every single day. It’s inspiring. Our staff is always willing to lend a hand and work together to get the job done – even in the pouring rain and freezing wind.

For those who checked out our Instagram stories that day, you may have seen a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes set up and work that it took to create The Honors and Celebration portions of Member-Bration. It took time, strong commitment and a few laughs to get it done, and every staff member was up for the challenge.

We all had fun!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the work, the who’s who in your industry and the swirling business jargon. The Chamber world is no different. But having fun and celebrating fellow members doing awesome things in the community is always a welcome distraction. Outside of the office and work meetings, our members enjoy interacting with peers and friends, listening to live and local music, laughing over funny stories and treating themselves to delicious food and drinks.

Member-Bration was designed with these things in mind. And we did it. With the collective efforts from our passionate members and staff, I believe this event was a tremendous success and truly celebrated all our members. I am thrilled to have been a part of it again. Thank you to Seth G. and HoneySmoke band, sponsored by the Charleston RiverDogs, for taking Member-Bration to the next level and to Motion Filmworks for capturing the night so perfectly.

So, what will next year’s Member-Bration look like? Stay tuned!
