Lowcountry Food Bank Hiring Director of Agency Relations

Last year, Lowcountry Food Bank distributed millions of pounds of food to food-insecure children, seniors, and adults through a network of partner agencies within the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina. The Director of Agency Relations works to address increasing the equitable access to food in each community. S/he leads the development and implementation of services to partner agencies, thereby improving equity in our food system by creating an efficient and effective food distribution network.

The Director of Agency Relations manages all aspects of the Agency Relations team, including: strategy development and implementation; oversight of federal nutrition and commodity programs (The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Community Supplemental Food Program); monitoring and compliance of partner agencies; equitable distribution of food throughout distribution area with a focus on strategically identified communities; agency education and training; and internal and external communications pertaining to partner agencies.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 3- 5 years of non-profit or comparable experience. The candidate must have a commitment to and an understanding of our mission and ability to work independently and set priorities, work with diverse groups of individuals, think creatively – especially in regard to new approaches, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to travel throughout the ten coastal counties. Supervisory experience is required.
