Employers…We Understand and We Can Help

In our region, businesses are still being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, while also trying to find innovative and creative ways to attract and recruit talent to join their team.

The Chamber’s Talent team felt the stress and uncertainty from business members and wanted to utilize the Chamber’s resources to bring potential employees to them and, while getting the word out to job seekers about regional job opportunities.

And they did just that. The Chamber’s Virtual Job Fairs are the perfect way to bring job seekers and employers together in a safe way.

We have featured companies from a variety of industries and positions varying from service technicians and mechanics to HR personnel and IT.

Our next virtual job fair on September 11 will include job openings for a Warehouse Picker, Electrical Engineer, HR Benefits Coordinator, Data Entry Specialist, Relocation Director and a few other entry level positions. If you are a job seeker looking for a position in any of these fields, this job fair is worth listening to.

If you are an employer, we want to hear from you. Do you have positions that you are looking to fill, but are having trouble finding ways to get the message out there? Let us know. We are dedicated to improving workforce alignment and ensuring that regional employers have employees to fill their high-demand jobs.

Here are a few other initiatives that our Talent team has been working on to help lessen the uncertainty employers are feeling:

  • Talent Tips – in one of the most recent microcasts, Tallo offers great tips on finding qualified talent and identifies the differences in recruiting Gen-Z versus millennial professionals.
  • Talent Connection – the talent connection platform works to do exactly what the virtual job fairs are doing:; bringing companies in need of talent together with talented individuals looking for a job.

We understand it’s not easy. Your Charleston Metro Chamber recognizes the needs of regional businesses and will continue to work to drive solutions for them.
