December 18, 2020
As this will be the last Advocates for 2020, I thought it appropriate to do a “Year in Review.” Initially, I began listing the major events of the last twelve months. But that soon became unsatisfying as it did not seem to adequately capture the challenges of this moment.
So, I started asking, what would we remember most about this year? The pandemic? Job loss or business failures? Climate change or social and racial injustice? Political polarization? The loss of a loved one? All of us were probably touched by more than one of these this year.
Or would we remember the loving embrace of our family, our faith, our community?
Given the season, I chose to put 2020 in the rearview mirror and share something that always gives me hope. If you have a few minutes, I hope this video will give you hope, too:
If you are still with me and have a moment, share with me the song, the words or the work of art that gives you hope.
Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa!
And Happy New Year!
