Cybersecurity Awareness

A recent report from Barracuda Networks revealed a nearly 700% increase in COVID-19 themed emails from February to March. One of the most concerning aspects of that increase is that 90% of hacking attacks begin with malicious email.

Denise Kaufman and Les Perkins of TeamLogic IT joined us for a webinar to provide the education and knowledge necessary to close security gaps and stop cyber breaches.

IT Tips

Practice cybersecurity safety

  • Test, verify and back up files continuously
  • Ensure your employees know how to avoid email scams
  • Have a password policy to ensure password strength; enable multi-factor authentication when possible
  • Keep devices up to date
  • Make sure your WiFi network is secure – avoid common network names and passwords

Endpoint security

  • All computers should have anti-virus and anti-malware software beyond what comes with the device
  • Continuously update patches and security for operating systems

Back up your data – use the 3-2-1 Rule of Backup

  • Three copies of the data should be backed up
  • Two different storage media should be used for backup
  • One copy of the data should be kept off-site
