With billion-dollar disasters now a regular occurrence, communities like Charleston face mounting risks to lives, livelihoods and local economies from threats like hurricanes, flooding and extreme heat.

This forum will spotlight findings from Beyond the Payoff, a new report from the U.S. Chamber, U.S. Chamber Foundation and Allstate. The research shows that every $1 not invested in disaster preparedness today can cost communities up to $33 in lost future economic activity. In hurricane-prone areas, resilience funding can help prevent the loss of over 70,000 jobs.
