Driving Solutions for a Thriving Community
The Charleston Metro Chamber is a membership organization, 1,700 members strong, serving as a collective voice to drive solutions for a thriving community. We work each day for our members, each of their employees and our entire community to ensure we have a healthy business environment. We tackle the toughest regional challenges like housing attainability, infrastructure and bridging the talent gap, while creating exclusive access, networking and leadership opportunities to grow your business and your employees.
We can tackle the tough issues because of the strength of our members and volunteer leaders. Together, our collective voices are advancing our region. And yes, it is because of each one of our members and leaders, and our tremendous staff, that we were honored to be named the 2018 Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

What do we do?
We are the region’s collective voice. We take on our region’s most critical issues and advocate on behalf of our business community at the federal, state and regional levels. Our state lobbyist is in Columbia everyday of the legislative session and you can almost always see a member of our Government Relations team at local council meetings. But we go beyond lobbying and attending meetings. We are building collaborative partnerships with our local governments on shared priorities.
Our region will add 35,000 new jobs over the next five years – the biggest factor holding us back is a shortage of skilled workers to fill these positions. We must continue efforts to activate students for our region’s high-demand jobs, advance opportunities for all to succeed after high school and further align our employers and education systems. Our talent team works closely with regional partners in both the business and education communities to drive educational change.
Our community and your company require strong leadership. Our leadership programming aims to cultivate leaders at different stages of their career path. Through community awareness, education and hands-on experience, we aim to provide the region with an ongoing source of leaders that are prepared and committed to serve as catalysts of positive change in our region. Programs include Charleston Young Professionals, Leadership Discovery, Leadership Charleston and the Metro Leadership Visit.
