South Carolina Federal Appoints New Chair, Vice Chair to Supervisory Committee

South Carolina Federal Credit Union has appointed Michelle Kelley to serve as Supervisory Committee Chair and Matthew Alexander to serve as Vice Chair following the credit union’s 2020 membership meeting.

The South Carolina Federal Supervisory Committee is responsible for determining that the credit union’s financial condition is accurately and fairly presented in financial statements and that management procedures and practices are adequate to safeguard members’ assets. Kelley has served on this committee since 2010, and Alexander has served since 2014.

“Our Supervisory Committee ensures that we have the right tools and resources to maintain financial soundness and stability,” said Scott Woods, President and CEO of South Carolina Federal. “Under Michelle’s leadership, this committee will help us maintain our members’ trust and confidence in our policies and reporting.”

Kelley lives with her family in Columbia. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Carolina. She graduated from the School of Law at the University of South Carolina in 2007.

Alexander lives with his family in Charleston. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in religion from Charleston Southern University.
