TEALS Program Volunteer Information Webinar – Use your coding skills to build the Charleston tech ecosystem!

Inspire the next generation of computer scientists by volunteering in local schools!

Learn about becoming a TEALS volunteer for the 2020-21 school year at a volunteer information webinar on June 1 from 12:30 – 1 p.m.

Hear from Chris Mitchell, VP of Technology Strategy at Blackbaud, about the impact TEALS has had on Blackbaud employees and schools in South Carolina.

What is TEALS?

Microsoft Philanthropies TEALS supports computer science (CS) education by recruiting and training technology professionals, like you, to serve as yearlong classroom volunteers. Volunteers are paired with developing CS teachers and their students to help local high schools establish permanent CS programs.

Make a local impact

22 volunteers are needed to support five schools (6 CS classes) in the Charleston Area: Berkeley High School, Goose Creek HS, Philip Simmons High School, Hanahan HS, and Charleston Charter for Math and Science High School.

Apply now in order to complete the virtual summer training and assignments to get prepared for the 2020-21 school year.

You should volunteer to teach CS with TEALS if you…

  • are a tech professional
  • possess a strong background in CS
  • enjoy working with HS students
  • are passionate about supporting the local tech talent pipeline

Get involved!

  • Register by entering your name and email for our 6/1 Virtual Info Session from 12:30 – 1 PM (In the Bookings page you’ll need to navigate to June to find the date to register.)
  • Apply now to volunteer for the 2020-21 school year!
