Water Mission Awarded Charity Navigator’s Four-Star Rating for 14th Consecutive Year

Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, was awarded Charity Navigator’s four-star rating for the 14th consecutive year. Charity Navigator is America’s largest independent charity evaluator. Earning this top distinction reflects Water Mission’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.

“This award is evidence of our team’s commitment to excellence and integrity, two values that are foundational to our work at Water Mission,” said George C. Greene IV, PE, CEO and president of Water Mission. “We are grateful to have received this honor and for the continued trust our supporters place in us to be good stewards of their gifts, ensuring they have maximum impact through safe water projects around the world.”

Since 2002, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a four-star rating. Charity Navigator uses an objective rating methodology to evaluate each charity based on its governance and ethics practices as well as its openness with donors. Accountability and transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders

“Only one percent of the charities we evaluate have received at least 14 consecutive four-star evaluations. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Water Mission apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. “Based on its four-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Water Mission.”

Water Mission’s rating and other information about charitable giving are available free of charge on www.charitynavigator.org. More detailed information about Water Mission’s rating is available to Charity Navigator visitors who become registered users, another free service.
