Chamber Staff to Help Lead Power Up SC Event Sessions

Richard Waring, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Celeste Granger, Associate Vice President of Talent, will take part in leading two Power Up SC breakout sessions on Thursday, February 1.

The Power Up Series is hosted by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Excellence, Equity, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans. This series consists of a collection of engagements in the Black community that will serve as critical touchpoints in advancing education, equity, and economic opportunity best practices and resources.

During this event, you will hear directly from different federal agencies about the resources available to advance equity and economic opportunity in the Black community. This series is a White House Black Initiative effort to promote equitable access to resources that serve the needs of Black students, families, and communities.

Power Up SC consists of a series of sessions and will take place across several locations in Charleston from Wednesday, January 31 to Friday, February 2.

Richard will be a panelist during the breakout session Leveraging Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Drive Generational Wealth Creation and Celeste will co-lead the session, Unlocking Career Success. Both sessions will be held at the College of Charleston Addlestone Library at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 1.
