The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that we have been accepted into the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Federation (WCF) International Certificate of Origin Accreditation Chain.

This international export document accreditation will help many of the 6,700 businesses in South Carolina that export. Many countries now require authenticated certificates because it identifies the country of origin of the goods being exported. This information is used to determine the proper duty rates to apply and even the admissibility of goods in some countries.

This is one of the most useful services the Chamber can provide companies that export because Chambers are the only official body authorized to issue, sign and stamp export documents for exporters. 

Charleston Chamber-issued Certificates of Origin will feature the ICC quality label representing the “gold seal” for international export document standards.

Exporters and freight forwarders who secure a Charleston Metro Chamber stamp that includes the ICC emblem stamp on their export documentation are assured it is recognized around the globe for its quality and integrity. This accreditation further provides custom authorities and trade stakeholders a tool to verify the authenticity of export documentation and promote the use of universal certification standards and processes to better serve the global trading community.

Manually creating and mailing export certificates is time-consuming and expensive. If your company exports, you can now complete your needed export documents on the Chamber’s export document portal and realize a savings of up to 65%.  These documents include certificate of origin, good manufacturing practices certificates, and certificates of free sale. There are no fees to register, and members receive special pricing.
