How many Chamber members can say they have a lobbyist working for them at the State House in Columbia? If you didn’t already know, all Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce members have a lobbyist working for them each day of the legislative session.

Bailey Vincett, Director of Government Relations at the Chamber, spends Tuesday through Thursday in Columbia, advocating for members in an effort to advance a legislative agenda that promotes a thriving business community in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. The 2024 Legislative Agenda outlines the state legislative priorities and competitiveness issues the Chamber is urging the General Assembly to address during this legislative session.

Issues can move quickly at the State House and we are excited to help keep our members more informed about the work that is taking place on a daily basis. A new series called “Inside the State House with Bailey” aims to pull back the curtain on what is happening each week in Columbia and how it could impact our business community. This weekly update series will be published on the Chamber’s LinkedIn and X accounts, with Bailey providing unique insight into the decisions being made by our elected officials.
