SC Leadership Exchange Recap

Now more than ever, we knew that our state had to come together to ensure our state is the best it can be.

The inaugural SC Leadership Exchange brought together leaders from South Carolina’s three largest metros to have dialogues and build connections across the state. The three-day, virtual conference facilitated valuable conversations to address issues of common interest to our communities.

The conference helped to build strategies and find solutions around:

  • Creating an equitable South Carolina
  • Housing and infrastructure challenges
  • Economic recovery and resiliency
  • Developing and attracting a diverse and inclusive workforce

Day One

In the midst of a year with so many uncertainties, we were excited to launch a virtual conference that brought together leaders from around our state to receive critical updates, discuss regional collaborations and hold on to the notion that this too shall pass.

Day One’s theme of the conference focused on South Carolina’s economy, infrastructure and inclusivity.

Day Two

Day Two’s theme surrounded Education, Workforce and Preparing the Next Generation and offered critical conversations and updates on the state of our education systems.

We kicked off day two with Dan Ellzey with SCDEW on the State of Employment in South Carolina.

Day Three

And…we are off! The third and final day of the conference did not disappoint, with the theme surrounding recovery and resiliency, criminal justice reform and the power of collaboration.

We kicked off the final day with a Mayors’ Panel on the State of Our Cities with Stephen K. Benjamin, Mayor of the City of Columbia, John Tecklenburg, Mayor of the City of Charleston, and Knox White, Mayor of the City of Greenville.
