Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Announces 2023 Minority Business Accelerator Graduates

The second Lowcountry Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) cohort recently celebrated the completion of their year-long course work, focused on gaining understanding of their business and developing strategies to scale.

Wendell Jones, President of the Wendell Jones Leadership Institute and South Carolina Representative, led an intensive six-month course that helped transform business owners into CEOs. Following classroom work, participants then worked with financial experts, mentors and fellow cohort members to develop a Strategic Growth Action Plan (SGAP) which outlined the actions their business will take to achieve growth over the next three years.

Please join in congratulating the 2023 Minority Business Accelerator Cohort!

The Minority Business Accelerator program, which started with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives in the Greenville Chamber, grew to include the Charleston and Columbia regions thanks in part to a generous grant from the Bank of America. In doing so, minority business owners from across the state gained the opportunity to pursue the SC Minority Business Accelerator’s mission to “help accelerate the development of high-potential minority business enterprises (MBEs) and to strengthen and expand the regional minority entrepreneurial community.

In addition to the generous contribution by Bank of America, founding partners, Charleston County, City of Charleston, City of North Charleston, Coastal Community Foundation, The InterTech Group, Dominion Energy and South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) have made the Lowcountry Minority Business Accelerator a reality.
