Jaymes McCloud Honored as 2020 Rising Champion

The Charleston Metro Chamber Community Champions Awards, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, honors those businesses and individuals who made an impact in 2020.

The Rising ChampionAward recognizes an individual rising through the ranks, with outstanding professional, personal and leadership success in the Charleston business community. We are pleased to announce that Jaymes McCloud, CEO of J.H.W. Enterprises, LLC, is being recognized as the 2020 Rising Champion.

Jaymes is an inspirational leader and entrepreneur in our community and has created a unique impact during 2020. He has focused not only on growing his business but also helping others in need.

Possessing a burning desire to serve, Jaymes initially dreamt of a career in law enforcement, but after attending Charleston Southern University from 2010-2013, in pursuit of a degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration, Jaymes decided to become a pillar in his community in other influential ways. Seeing a lack of representation in the property management industry and a need for more compassion-driven leadership, he began his professional career as an Assistant Property Manager in 2013.

In March of 2018, Jaymes founded J.H.W. Enterprises, LLC, where he grew exponentially from managing one property at a mere $60 per month during its first year to an astounding portfolio of over 80 properties by year two. Motivated by a desire “to do property management the right way,” Jaymes guides his team in applying an integrity-led approach in effectively capturing market rent, identifying qualified tenants, stabilizing facilities expenses and offering transparent reporting to property investors.

In addition to his commitment to delivering optimal property management, real estate investment and leadership development expertise, Jaymes is also a champion in the fight against homelessness and poverty. As a committed advocate for the disenfranchised and poverty-stricken, he is an active member of the Landlord Engagement Committee for Homelessness, where he works tirelessly to close the gap by providing safe and affordable housing to those without a place to call home.

Under Jaymes’s leadership, J.H.W. Enterprises helps people find homes and build their legacies, but also cares for those within the community who need it the most.

The J.H.W. Cares initiative is the outreach arm of J.H.W. Enterprises and was formed out of the company’s passion for helping others in need. In addition to managing properties and helping people find homes, J.H.W. Cares has partnered with several local nonprofits whose missions focus on helping others find resources for sustainability. The J.H.W. Cares team works with these partners to help develop a community that cares: the executive leadership team volunteers during their partners’ outreach events and helps provide resources for reliable housing. During the pandemic, the company helped support individuals struggling to pay rent.

We are proud to have outstanding leaders like Jaymes as part of our membership and community at large. His commitment to his community and resilience during a challenging year led to innovation and providing support to those who need it most.
