What motivated you to become an entrepreneur?

Desire to help others! I saw a need to properly educate consumers about financial literacy and rewarding themselves with home ownership. I love providing guidance and support throughout the mortgage process and making a positive impact on my clients’ lives.

Being a mortgage broker involves so much more than simply arranging mortgage loans. It entails educating clients, promoting responsible financial practices, and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about one of the most significant financial transactions of their lives. It is through these efforts, I play a vital role in promoting financial literacy within their communities.

Is there something you are particularly proud of in your business?

I am extremely proud that we are able to offer a more tailored and hands-on approach to guiding clients through the complex process of obtaining a mortgage. As a business owner of a mortgage brokerage I take pride in the personalized service, expertise and advocacy, transparent communication, education, and positive impact we are able to bring to our clients’ lives, distinguishing York Superior Mortgage Group from larger financial institutions.

What is one thing you want others to know about you and/or your business?

Ensuring that you make the right choice for you and your family is my ultimate goal. I am committed to providing my customers with mortgage services that exceed their expectations. It is indeed a pleasure to see clients turn into family as they accomplish their goals of buying a new home, investment property, commercial space, etc. Whether you’re buying, selling, refinancing, or building your dream home, you have a lot riding on your loan specialist. What made you want to participate in the Lowcountry Minority Business Accelerator?

I was drawn to participate in the Lowcountry Minority Business Accelerator because I see it as an incredible opportunity to access resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities specifically tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities faced by minority-owned businesses. I understand the importance of representation and support in the business world. By participating in this accelerator program, I aim to not only grow my own business but also contribute to the advancement and empowerment of minority entrepreneurs like myself. I believe that by leveraging the resources provided by this accelerator, I can make meaningful strides towards achieving my business goals and positively impacting my community.

What advice would you give to other minority business owners?

Seek Mentorship: Look for mentors who can provide guidance, support, and valuable insights based on their own experiences as entrepreneurs. Mentorship can help you navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and accelerate your business growth.

Invest in Education and Skills Development: Continuously invest in your own education, skills development, and professional growth. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to remain competitive in your field.

Celebrate Your Achievements: Celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and acknowledge the milestones you achieve along the way. Recognizing your achievements can boost morale, motivate your team, and fuel your passion for entrepreneurship.
