The Advocates: Why Invest in the PAC?

Every year is an election year in our region and the business community deserves to have access and influence on crucial policy decisions being made by our elected officials. The Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) is an essential tool to support those candidates who have demonstrated that they will advocate for a positive business environment.

Last year, the PAC vetted numerous candidates in over two dozen state and local races, covering the tri-county area.  The candidate vetting process, which includes mandatory written questionnaires and in-person interviews with PAC interview teams (populated by fellow volunteer Chamber members), resulted in an unprecedented election success rate of 92%!

This year, critical elections will select the Mayors of Charleston, North Charleston and Summerville. Council members will be elected in Charleston, North Charleston, Mt. Pleasant and Summerville. The PAC will be making important endorsement decisions regarding these races.

Please consider contributing towards this work using the link below. A contribution can be made in any amount, with complimentary tickets to the November PAC Reception, featuring the winners of each local election, starting at the Rising Leader Level.

  • Chairman’s Level: $2,500+
  • President’s Level: $1,000 – $2,499
  • Palmetto Level: $100 – $999
  • Rising Leader Level: $25 – $99
