Blood Connection Hiring Account Manager

Position Overview


As part of the Donor Resources Department, the Account Manager is responsible for rebooking existing blood drives and maintaining strong, positive relationships with blood drive coordinators and individual donors in an assigned territory.

This role works closely with the Donor Resources Manager, Senior Account Managers and Production Planning to reschedule blood drives to meet and exceed the collection goals and inventory needs of The Blood Connection.

The Account Manager provides all necessary support to blood drive coordinators through consistent and proactive planning, utilization of appropriate marketing and advertising tools, donor appointment management and follow-up. The Account Manager may be onsite at the blood drive to ensure a smooth event.

Essential Functions

Relationship Building – Office Work:
-Evaluates and identifies existing eligible donor groups in assigned territory to reschedule
-Works closely with the Donor Resources Manager, Senior Account Managers and Production Planning to ensure a healthy blood drive calendar is booked out at least 8 weeks in advance
-Submits blood drive proposals with detailed and accurate information for review by Production Planning for scheduling
-Ensures each structured sponsor group is scheduled at least 56 days apart
-Contacts blood drive coordinators and eligible donors according to the 6 week timeline
-Ensures all blood drive information is entered and correct in HemaCollect by set deadlines
-Works with the blood drive coordinators to encourage creativity and successful campaigns to increase donor participation at blood drives
-Encourages committees to organize and manage event
-Asks blood drive coordinators for permission to attend supervisory, health/safety meetings, and employee meetings to encourage appointments in advance and educate about The Blood Connection and blood donation
-Requests marketing advertising materials from TBC Marketing Department and distributes to blood drive coordinators in a timely manner per the 6 week timeline
-Follows direction of Director/Manager of Donor Resources on priority level of donor gift offered for the selected time period
-Utilizes marketing tools in HemaConnect to properly advertise blood drive details to blood drive coordinator and donors within a particular sponsor group per the 6 week timeline
-Calls potential blood donors of needed blood types to schedule appointments on each drive using HemaConnect
-Encourages and instructs all blood drive coordinators on the use and implementation of HemaConnect software Coordinator Portal
-Ensures that blood drive coordinators are thanked, properly acknowledged, and provided results within 24 hours of blood drive end

Relationship Building – Field Work:
-Provides superior customer service to both blood drive sponsors and blood donors
-Establishes patronage and relationships with blood donors and sponsors in assigned territory
-Recruits, educates, motivates, and retains blood drive sponsors
-Educates the community by attending health fairs and community/marketing events and giving presentations to spread the mission of The Blood Connection (all items must be created and approved by TBC Marketing Department)
-Organizes in-person meetings with each blood drive coordinator to build relationship and confirm/assess blood drive details
-Assesses onsite directions, parking and other variables that ensure the success of the blood drive according to the site evaluation form and updates these in HemaCollect for each blood drive
-Personally attends blood drives as onsite representation as scheduled
-Positively promotes The Blood Connection through the media under approved TBC Marketing direction
-Builds strong relationships with sponsor groups to grow blood drives into more successful events

Customer Service:
-Displays the highest quality of customer service to all sponsors, patrons, donors, and co-workers
-Recognizes that the primary mission is to help blood donors fulfill their desire to become benefactors of community service through blood donation while providing exemplary customer service
-Timely communicates any issues during the blood drive with the Donor Resources Manager and/or Senior Account Managers
-Assists in resolving any issues that may occur during the blood drive
-Exhibits appreciation to blood drive coordinators

Miscellaneous:
-Works closely with Donors Services team onsite at blood drives to ensure the best donor experience
-Embraces and adapts to change
-Other duties as assigned or required

Expectations:
-Responsible for a monthly booking goal in assigned territory and achieves 100% of this goal
-Maintains a standard percentage of accuracy (Percentage of Accuracy is defined as Targeted Goal versus Actual units booked with range of accuracy between 95% and 110%)
-Maintains a set Blood Drive Efficiency Ratio (BDER) of 1.8 per blood drive and averages a 1.5 monthly ratio
-Responsible for a having a minimum of 50% of assigned blood drives make individual goal for the month
-Facilitates TBC’s mission through proactive scheduling and providing information and logistical support to sponsor groups and individual blood donors
-Coordinator satisfaction surveys – receive an average rating of 3.5 or higher monthly
-Departmentally – Works with all members of the Donor Resources team to achieve a projection accuracy of 95% – 110% accuracy rate daily, weekly, monthly, and annually
-Departmentally – Works with all members of the Donor Resources team to achieve and exceed team goals

Minimum Qualifications
-High School Diploma or GED
-Two plus years of college or three plus years of blood banking experience or three plus years of proven outside sales experience in a service related industry.
-Outside sales, marketing, or customer service experience required
-Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
-Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors and co-workers
-Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
-Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
-Strong computer skills
-Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
