The LDC is a vibrant and growing not-for-profit Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina. Over its 42-year history, the organization had developed a strong reputation and balance sheet as one of the state’s leading lenders for economic opportunity and social justice. The LDC is rapidly expanding its lending and seeks a Finance & Compliance Manager to support its growing footprint and impact in communities across South Carolina.

Position Summary

The Finance & Compliance Manager is a member of the LDC’s operations team and is responsible for the treasury management of the organizations loan funds, as well as the compliance and reporting for its largest funders. Additionally, this position publishes regular financial reports for internal and external stakeholders (including, but not limited, to the board of directors, auditors, accreditation agencies, current & prospective funders, and external payroll / accounting services).

Responsibilities

  • Provide optimal treasury management of LDC loan funds, business finances, and all other assets
  • Serve as program manager for large lending program(s) by handling the associated communications, reporting, and compliance to keep the programs operating effectively and in good standing.
  • Updating internal financial processes, software, and systems, to maximize efficiency, grow capacity, and support a growing organization.
  • Collaborate smoothly with external vendors for accreditation, banking, accounting, payroll, HR, and other outsourced financial & operational services.
  • Produce detailed financial reports for internal and external use (including but not limited to, the Board of Directors, auditors, accreditation agencies, and current & future funders).
  • Work with LDC lending team to ensure seamless management of funds in support of LDC lending activities and commitments.
  • Other accounting, financial, and operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or similar function.
  • Strong analytical, time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Impeccable personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of borrower data.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks, and CRM software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in finance, accounting, business management, or related field.
  • Experience/knowledge of local businesses, and geography.
  • Excited about new opportunities, working with diverse communities, & continued learning.

Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience, expected range: $55,000-$70,000
