Charleston Metro Chamber Now Accepting Applications for Leadership Charleston

The Charleston Metro Chamber is accepting applications for the Leadership Charleston Class of 2022 until July 2. This year-long program engages participants in experiences that help them become better community leaders.

Through community immersion and interactions with diverse leaders, Leadership Charleston cultivates leaders and ignites the advancement of the Charleston metro. For 48 years, the program has been identifying and developing leaders in the community, producing over 2,000 graduates that have become leaders in local, regional and global industries, legislative appointments and civic stewardship.

“I am very grateful for my Leadership Charleston experience,” says Leslie Skardon, 2021 Leadership Charleston participant. “Not only have I met an amazing group of people, but I have had access to experiences I would not have otherwise. The Chamber team does an amazing job of planning our sessions, giving us access to influential people and hard-to-access places. Most importantly, they have facilitated in-depth, difficult conversations on the most pressing issues of our day, from criminal justice reform to affordable housing to how we fund our schools. I am more educated, more connected and more intentional as a result of this experience and can’t recommend it enough.”

The mission of Leadership Charleston is to identify and motivate emerging leaders and to develop their leadership potential by introducing them, through an intensive and up-close look, to the realities, opportunities and challenges of the region’s civic and business communities. Participants will experience the power of working with other community leaders and organizations for positive growth and advancement of the region.

The Leadership Charleston Class of 2022 will meet for one full day per month from September 2021 through August 2022. Each of these monthly program days is focused on a facet of the community, such as local government, military, philanthropy, economic development, etc. Learn more about Leadership Charleston and apply now for the Class of 2022.

The Leadership Charleston Class of 2022 is sponsored by Home Telecom, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, South Carolina Federal Credit Union, the South Carolina Stingrays, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and Positively People.
