Charleston County Parks’ Latin American Festival to take place on Oct. 8

Experience the tastes and traditions of Charleston’s Latin American community

Celebrate Charleston’s vibrant Latin and Caribbean cultures at the Latin American Festival, Sunday, Oct. 8 at Wannamaker County Park, from 12 – 5 p.m.!

Charleston County Parks invites you to immerse yourself in the authentic music, dance and food found throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The annual event brings people together to celebrate Charleston’s vibrant Latin cultures through non-stop merengue, reggaeton, bachata and salsa music; folkloric artwork and crafts; and authentic foods – from flavorful empanadas to tasty arroz con pollo.

This year’s live music lineup will feature Los del Pueblo, Wando Lopez and headliner Kinito Méndez. Los del Pueblo will start off the day with regional Mexican music. Cuban diva, singer and composer Wanda Lopez will bring her energetic show to the stage at 2 p.m. And Dominican merengue star Kinito Méndez, founder of the popular band “La Cocoband” and solo artist who has sold over 1.5 million copies of his debut album, will perform at 3:30 p.m. Guests will also enjoy dance performances, and the popular salsa dance contest hosted by DJ Luigi Bravo.
