Little Diversified Architectural Consulting has moved its Charleston-based team into a new workspace in Navy Yard Charleston, joining a growing creative business district in the historic redevelopment. The national design firm’s local office is now located at 1360 Truxtun Avenue, Suite 200.

“Our focus is to continue the legacy of the Navy Yard for a new generation,” said Jay Weaver, Founder and President of Weaver Capital Partners. “We are restoring and reactivating this historic site for modern uses, where design and creative firms like Little can grow and thrive. This blend of history and innovation mirrors the dynamic spirit of North Charleston and anchors our vision for the future.”

Little established its South Carolina office in 2022 and acquired Red Iron Architects of Charleston, S.C., earlier this year. The firm’s new Navy Yard office features over 5,000 square feet to accommodate a team that’s grown from two to 20 in just over two years.

“Community is at the center of our work at Little,” said Little’s Charleston Office President Don Baus, AIA, LEED AP. “We’ve been designing projects in South Carolina for the last 10 years and are proud to have set roots in historic North Charleston.”

Navy Yard Charleston is an 85-acre mixed-use redevelopment along the Cooper River and next to Riverfront Park. Beginning as a working dry dock in 1901, the historic site was once home to the Charleston Naval Base & Shipyard and served as a major economic driver for the region.

In 2021, local developers Weaver Capital Partners and WECCO Development, as well as Jamestown partnered to repurpose the Navy Yard’s historic structures and create a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood is projected to include over three million square feet of new office, shopping, dining and residential space.
