LS3P Names New Charleston Office Leader

Architecture, interiors, and planning firm LS3P is pleased to announce Dan Scheaffer, AIA, CDT, LEED AP, as the firm’s new Charleston Office Leader. Scheaffer, an architect and senior project manager, has previously served as Interim Charleston Office Leader, Workplace Sector Leader, and Investment | Corporate Commercial Leader for the office. He was named a firm Principal in 2020.

In his new role, Scheaffer is responsible for successfully implementing LS3P’s strategic priorities specific to the Charleston office. CEO Marc Marchant, AIA, LEED AP, believes that Scheaffer’s leadership will have far-reaching impacts. “Dan sets a fantastic example for servant leadership and consistently demonstrates how closely his personal values align with our firm values,” Marchant explains. “In the more than 20 years I’ve known him, it’s been clear that Dan’s skills and character both enhance his commitment to our vision, and he is eminently qualified to lead the Charleston office into the next chapter of our growth.”

Scheaffer joined the firm in 2003 and is deeply rooted in the Charleston community. “I’m truly honored to be a part of this extremely talented team and look forward to building on our long history of service to our clients and communities.”

A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Scheaffer has built an impressive portfolio of award-winning projects. Among his notable achievements are the MUSC Ashley River Tower, the Trident Technical College SC Aeronautical Training Center, and the corporate headquarters at GARCo development for Ingevity and the Charleston Chamber of Commerce.

Scheaffer’s commitment to community engagement is equally remarkable. He was recently appointed to the Board of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and has held multiple leadership roles with the SC Center for Architecture. Additionally, he served as Lowcountry Director and President of AIA South Carolina for three years and currently contributes to the LS3P Foundation Board, overseeing research grant funding for academic and community partners.

His accolades include an AIA Design Excellence Award, recognition as a graduate of Leadership Charleston, and being named one of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s Forty Under 40 honorees. In 2016, Scheaffer was honored as one of 12 nationwide winners of the AIA Young Architects Award. Beyond his professional achievements, Scheaffer is a frequent guest lecturer, speaker, and panelist at academic and professional events, sharing his expertise and insights with the broader community.
