Positively People Hosts Forum with Kenya Association of Manufacturers

After two years of impactful collaboration with leading family-owned businesses in Kenya, Positively People, a long-time CMMC lead member, officially expanded its footprint by opening an office in Nairobi in January 2024. This marks a significant milestone as Positively People now operates across two continents. Its mission is to transform the education and landscape of family-owned businesses, building on the successful legacy of Dr. Jean Meeks-Koch, PhD, in the United States.

On August 16th, 2024, Positively People hosted a highly successful roundtable forum in partnership with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM). The event convened business leaders, local professionals, and senior KAM executives to engage in critical discussions on the future of family-owned businesses in East Africa. Given that over 85% of Kenyan manufacturers and most SMEs in the region are family-owned, the forum highlighted the vital importance of succession planning and generational continuity. It also explored strategies for forging partnerships with private equity, which is essential for driving economic growth and sustainability.

“Knowledge is meant to be shared, and as leaders, we must commit ourselves to areas where our expertise is most needed,” said Dr. Jean Meeks-Koch, PhD, CEO/Founder of Positively People. “We have found that the vibrant continent of Africa, and particularly East African countries, are eager to learn, evolve, and thrive. Positively People is dedicated to supporting this journey every step of the way.”
