The Coast Guard will be hosting its first ever 5K race in Charleston! This year will be a fun run at Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse and will look to replicate the runs that our Coast Guard predecessors in the Life Saving Service did when stationed at South Carolina’s ONLY life-saving station on Sullivan’s Island.

The race will start at the foot of the Lighthouse as part of the Sullivan’s Island Historic Coast Guard district – the race will be an entirely beach-based run as a reminder of our life saving service forebearers.

The registration deadline has been extended to Thursday, February 29.

How to register for the Charleston race:

1. Coast Guard Marathon (runsignup.com)
2. Scroll down and select “Official Satellite 5K: Charleston”
3. Fill out Registrant information.
4. Under choose your event select “Official Satellite 5K: Charleston”
5. Then continue
6. Fill out personal information and waiver
