Helping businesses find the right connections, resources and opportunities starts with listening. That’s exactly what Cam Jackson and Matt Cunningham will be doing as the newest members of the Chamber’s Membership team.
We’re excited to welcome Cam to the Chamber staff and Matt as an independent advisor supporting the Membership team. Together, they’ll spend time getting to know businesses across the region, learning how the Chamber can support their goals.
Although they arrived by different paths, both bring careers built around one thing: building relationships.
Cam joins the Chamber as Member Engagement Manager after leading membership and engagement efforts for the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce in Fairhope, Alabama. His success there earned national recognition through ACCE, where he finished first in the organization’s Membership Sales Contest in 2024, third in 2025 and achieved Silver Status in the Lifetime Sales Award program. A graduate of The Citadel and former professional football player in Europe, Cam is excited to be back in Charleston and reconnect with a community that’s changed considerably since he last lived here.
Matt will serve as Member Engagement Advisor through an independent consulting partnership with the Chamber, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience. His career has taken him across several industries, giving him the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, startups, established companies and nonprofit organizations alike. Outside of work, Matt has spent years mentoring students through Be A Mentor and serving in volunteer leadership roles with local youth swim organizations, experiences that reflect his commitment to investing in people and the community.
“Cam and Matt each bring a different perspective to our Membership team, and that’s what makes this such a strong addition,” said Justin Lee, Vice President of Membership. “Cam understands the chamber industry inside and out, while Matt has spent his career building relationships across a wide range of businesses and organizations. Together, they’ll help more companies discover what Chamber membership can mean for their business while continuing to strengthen the relationships that make our organization successful.”
As they settle into their new roles, Cam and Matt are looking forward to getting out into the community, meeting members where they are and learning what matters most to their businesses. Whether you’re considering membership for the first time or have been involved with the Chamber for years, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself the next time you see them at an event.
