Congratulations to Marion D. Major on being selected as the South Carolina Department of Education, Division of College and Career Readiness, Office of Career and Technical Education, and Student Transition Services Trident Region Technology Champion for 2022. Marion maintains a 3.859 GPA at the Schools of the Arts in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Cooper River Center of Advanced Studies, where he was recently elected student of the Month. As a part of the Work-Based -Learning program, he works at Ascue’s Auto Body & Paint Shop. In his spare time, he works as a stocker at Publix. In addition, Marion has completed the following certifications: Personal Safety, Hazardous Airborne Pollutant Reduction, Bolted-On Exterior Panels Parts 1 & 2, Intro to Industry Repair Terms, Intro to Mechanical Systems Technology Parts 1 & 2, Intro to Refinishing and Corrosion Protection Parts 1 & 2, and OSHA. Marion is an exceptional student who wants other deaf students like him to achieve their full potential.
