This FREE two-day virtual event is open to all – healthcare providers of all disciplines, researchers, academics, advocates, students or members of the general public. We welcome anyone who wishes to expand their understanding of the unique experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQ+) individuals and discuss issues affecting the health of this community.
Session Topics Include:
Admiral Rachel Levine, MD, Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the first transgender official confirmed by the U.S. Senate, will be the opening keynote speaker.
Other nationally known speakers will include Dr. Ilan Meyer (Senior Scholar for Public Policy at the Williams Institute at UCLA), Dr. Maya Green (Chief Medical Officer at Howard Brown Health in Chicago), Dr. Jack Turban (Chief Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine), and Dr. Tonia Poteat(Associate Professor of Social Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill, as well as core faculty in the UNC Center for Health Equity Research).
Breakout sessions will also feature some of our own faculty, as we showcase the amazing leadership in LGBTQ+ care happening right here at MUSC.
