Senior Manager, EY Charleston

Shawn Saulsberry is a native of Charleston and grew up in Charleston Heights.  Shawn attended elementary school at Chicora Elementary and later moved to Berkeley County where he attended St. Stephen Middle and High Schools.  He later attended the University of South Carolina graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.  While in college, Shawn experienced Summer Internships as a Student Programmer at Santee Cooper in Moncks Corner.

After graduating, Shawn moved to Charlotte, NC to take advantage of opportunities in the technology industry.  Although away from home, Shawn continued to spend time in Charleston frequently seeing most of his extended family lives in the Tricounty.  While in Charlotte Shawn worked for several Financial Services companies providing technology solutions.  In 2013, he opened his own consulting firm serving the financial services industry in Charlotte as in Independent Consultant.

Shawn joined Ernst and Young in 2018 after 24 years in Charlotte.  In 2019, he gained support to move back to Charleston to spearhead and expand EY’s presence in the Tricounty.  Since returning EY’s reach in Charleston has expanded.  Many consultants are now relocating to Charleston.  EY is making the business community more aware of its services.  In addition, EY is showing how it helps serve communities.

Since returning Shawn has completed Leadership South Carolina.  He is also Board Chair of Metanoia, a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, a member of the Strategic Thinking Group, and a member of the Charleston Downtown Rotary Club.
