The Advocates: CMCC PAC Endorsements

The Charleston Metro Chamber Political Action Committee proudly announces its latest slate of endorsements for the upcoming June 11 primary. Endorsements include those running for state office, all of which were recognized by the Chamber as 2023 Champions of Business, as well as a Berkeley County Council office.

Berkeley County Council – District 2: Jarrod Brooks
Jarrod is running as a Republican for the Berkeley County Council seat, which is currently occupied by Josh Whitley. Councilman Whitley announced earlier this year he will not be seeking re-election. Jarrod is a businessman and resident of Daniel Island.

SC House District 111: Wendell Gilliard (incumbent)
Representative Gilliard has served in the SC House of Representatives for the past 15 years. He is a Charleston native and former City of Charleston council member. He currently serves on the Medical, Military, and Public and Municipal Affairs Committee.

SC House District 112: Joe Bustos (incumbent)
Representative Bustos is a resident of Mount Pleasant and a U.S. Army veteran. He was first elected in 2020 and has previous work experience as a business owner. He currently serves on the Medical, Military, and Public and Municipal Affairs Committee.

SC House District 114: Gary Brewer (incumbent)
Representative Brewer is a West Ashley resident running for his second term in the SC House of Representatives. He has professional experience in the engineering and construction industry. He currently serves on the SC House Legislative Oversight Committee.

SC House District 98: Chris Murphy (incumbent)
Representative Murphy was first elected to the SC House of Representatives in 2010 and previously served on Dorchester County Council. He currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee.

SC Senate District 32: Ronnie Sabb (incumbent)
Senator Sabb has represented Senate District 32 for 10 years and previously served as a representative for SC House District 101. He has experience as an attorney and currently serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

SC Senate District 42: Deon Tedder (incumbent)
Senator Tedder was first elected in a special election in 2023 to represent District 42. Previously, he served as a representative for SC House District 109. He is a resident of North Charleston and currently serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

SC Senate District 44: Brian Adams (incumbent)
Senator Adams has represented District 44 for three years and has prior experience serving on the Berkeley County School District school board. He has professional experience in law enforcement and currently serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce PAC looks forward to supporting each of these candidates on June 11. Additional endorsements can be expected for the general election in November.
