Charleston Young Professionals Advisory Council helps identify programs, events, and services for young professionals in the areas of professional development, community engagement, and connections. The Chamber Political Action Committee oversees the activities of the PAC including what elections the PAC focuses on, the endorsement process for candidates and fundraising to support the PAC’s activities. Members are invited to participate. Learn more.
Economic Forecast Board is comprised of leaders from specifically selected business sectors from across our region. Its primary purpose is to assist in the development of the region’s Economic Forecast tied to the Chamber’s Annual Economic Outlook Conference, and they meet in the early spring of each year. The Finance Committee consists of the Chairman, Chairman-elect, Finance Committee Chairman, the President and CEO and any others designated by the Chairman and President and CEO. Their duties include examining the financial condition of the Chamber each month, as well as the progress made towards yearly budget target requirements. The Finance Committee approves major expenditures, sets the Chamber’s financial and investment policies as well as they recommend and submit the proposed budget for the coming fiscal year to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for approval. The mission of the Regional Housing Coalition is to be a convener of community members, governments, for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations to unify the region’s efforts to provide attainable housing to all people, regardless of neighborhood or individual characteristics. Learn more.
The Regional Policy Committee sets the regional and local legislative and executive policy agenda for the Chamber’s advocacy efforts. Major changes are reported to the Business Advocacy Committee as recommendations. The Strategic Thinking Group is a group of dedicated business leaders who are working to identify high-growth minority-owned businesses for the MBA program and develop an African American board pipeline for non-profit organizations. Learn more.
The Thrive Advisory Council consists of women from various Chamber member organizations that are thought leaders in their fields. The council members help identify potential impactful content for the quarterly Thrive programs and through our Thrive community, work to unite professional women across our business community and provide a platform for connections, information, and inspiration.
